Training Update

It’s been a very busy fall and winter! I have managed to stay on track but have really kicked it into gear here in February. My last race was in Alton over Thanksgiving. It was a 10 mile run along the Mississippi River. (Great River Road Run) It was a great day for a run! I improved my time by 5 minutes! I was pleased with my improvement.  Last year I started experiencing knee pains after this run. I have not had any knee pains yet this year. I have increased my stretching time before and after running and that seems to have helped.

I have been traveling some and that makes it difficult to stay on track but I made it through the winter in much better shape than in the past. I am still working on my tri schedule but my goal is to incorporate one, Half Iron Man this year. My tentative schedule is the following:

May-Quincy IL-Bridge The Gap Run (Half Marathon, 10K, 5K)

May-Columbia MO-Race for Site  (Sprint Tri)

June-Quincy IL -Tri Jesus (Sprint Tri)

June-Des Moines IA- Hy-Vee (Olympic)

Aug-Canton IL – (Sprint)

Aug-Chicago-(Olympic)

Sept-Kirksville MO- NEMO (Olympic) (Pending my Montana trip)

If you would like to join me I always like having friends at races!  Also if have a good half IM I would like to hear about it.

I am incorporating endurance training (especially biking) into the resort. I will post more about this later.

Keep up the training! Spring is almost here!!
