The weather couldn’t be nicer at the resort today! Its Friday and the past two days have been perfect for enjoying the lodge. The weekend forecast looks nice as well. The lodge is full this weekend and we have guests riding horses, atv’s, riding their bikes, hiking and much more. A few of the guest are just enjoying relaxing on the decks that surround the lodge.

This past week we had the pleasure of hosting two honeymooners! Next week we have another couple who will share their honeymoon with us. This Sunday we are planning on putting our outdoor wedding chapel out. We have designated a beautiful ridge next to the lodges for our outdoor weddings. There are many great locations to have a wedding at the resort but this will be the primary location.

Spend the July 4^th weekend with us! There is plenty to do around the resort or take a day trip to one of the surrounding towns.  Enjoy our evening hayride that stops and overlooks a scenic view of the Mississippi River Valley. From this view you will watch Pleasant Hill’s firework show. (One of the best in the mid-west) along with 5 other firework shows on the horizon! This unique experience is one you will always remember!

Just a short drive from the lodge you can enjoy National Tom Sawyer Days - A Hannibal tradition for over 50 years. The National Tom Sawyer Days focuses on family fun. Visitors can watch or join in many of the activities, including the National Fence Painting Competition, the frog jumping competition, Tom and Becky Contest, Tomboy Sawyer competition, the Sam Clemens-Kiwanis Arts and Crafts show, Mississippi Mud Volleyball, stage entertainment, dancing, great food, and a spectacular 4th of July fireworks display over the Mighty Mississippi! For those of you who like fitness, Hannibal has its Hannibal Cannibal 5k & 10K run on Saturday morning. One of the largest runs in the country.

Louisiana (20 minutes from the lodge) is gearing up for the Fourth of July celebration, and this year it will encompass three days, Thursday through Saturday (July 2nd -July 4th) at the river front. A carnival along with vendors will be available for all ages to enjoy. The “River Rats”, a classic rock and blues band, will play until 11pm on Friday night. Saturday will include all the carnival rides, a fish fry, fireworks, and much more.

Our neighbors in Pleasant Hill (10 minutes from the lodge) will have a parade and a lot of fun activities for everyone to enjoy on the 4th. Their firework show is one of the best you will ever see!
